摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which, with a high numerical aperture and a small signal delay in each wiring, cross talk and a coloring phenomenon can be suppressed.SOLUTION: The present invention is a liquid crystal display device of a lateral electric field type comprising: a first circuit board in which pixels configured by a plurality of signal wiring and a plurality of scanning wiring intersecting each other, a switching element provided in an area near the intersection of the signal wiring and scanning wiring or in the scanning wiring, a pixel electrode connected to the switching element, and a counter electrode supplied with common potential are arranged in matrix form; a second circuit board provided facing the first circuit board; and a liquid crystal held between the first and the second circuit boards, with an electric field substantially parallel to the first circuit board applied to between the pixel electrode and a common electrode, wherein an underlayer electric field screening electrode set to the common potential is provided beneath the signal wiring, and the underlayer electric field screening electrode is not electrically connected to the other wiring and electrodes in a display area that are set to the common potential.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1(a)
