PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an operation with high energy efficiency by avoiding the situation in which a hot water source at hot water supply time is limited only to one of heat pump heating means and a hot water storage tank.SOLUTION: A hot water storage type heat pump water heater 35 includes: a HP unit 7; a hot water storage tank 8; a water supply pipeline 9; a hot water supply pipeline 21; a mixing valve 23 for bath; a second three-way valve 73; a medium temperature pipeline 79; a medium temperature hot water delivery pipeline 80 and the like. During a direct water filling operation, hot water heated by the HP unit 7 and medium temperature water taken out from a medium temperature lead-out port 8f of the hot water storage tank 8 are merged in the medium temperature pipeline 79 beforehand, and the medium temperature water generated in the medium temperature pipeline 79 by this is supplied to the mixing valve 23 for bath.
