A drowning detection method comprises: a step of acquiring a plurality of detection signals; a step of recording the plurality of detection signals, and calculating and analyzing each of the plurality of detection signals to determine whether drowning is occurring; and a step of transmitting a drowning signal K upon determining, according to each of the plurality of detection signals, that the drowning is occurring. Also provided is a drowning detection device. The device detects a plurality of detection signals transmitted by a plurality of sensors worn by a drowning person, thereby detecting a drowning event in a smart and timely manner, and improving an accuracy in detecting drowning.
