PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods, articles, and kits for the allergic desensitization via oral mucosa.SOLUTION: A gel compositions for decreasing sensitivity to one or more allergens and reducing symptoms of allergy in a subject contains one or more allergens associated with the allergy, being applied to the oral cavity of the subject and being fixed to fit the surface of the vestibular mucosa of the oral cavity. A gel composition is applied to the surface of the vestibular mucosa just before sleeping. A gel composition is formulated as a gel plug, which is designed to fit any of the multiple depressions in the vestibular region. In the gel composition, allergens are food allergens selected from peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk, crustaceans, fish, wheat, soy and their derivatives.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
