PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method of distinguishing, in various kinds of idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, non-specific interstitial pneumonia and/or idiopathic organization pneumonia from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.SOLUTION: The invention is configured to use, an existence amount of sub types (M1 type, M2 type) of macrophages in a sample derived from pulmones of a subject whose symptom should be distinguished, and an existence amount of cells positive to cell surface antigen properties which the sub types of macrophages in a mass of CD14 positive monocytes in a blood sample have, as indexes, for distinguishing non-specific interstitial pneumonia and/or idiopathic organization pneumonia from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
