An object of the present invention is to provide, in the case that a user has the watching time in mind in advance, a television receiver capable of swiftly carrying out program selection by utilizing an EPG. In order to achieve this object, an EPG information extraction part 111 extracts EPG information from a video signal. An EPG information storage part 112 stores the EPG information.
