The invention provides an improved chute material handling system mechanism for underground truck, mine car, and other related loading receptacles. The chute includes a lip which is mounted via a Plummer block bearing housing secured directly to wide flange beams. The lip pivots there to a radial position via a Z-link linkage. A link connects to a position point on the lip, located above the lip pivot point via a pinned connection to allow free rotational movement. The opposite end of the connecting link is attached to a boom which also allows free rotational movement. The boom has a central pivot mounting point that is secured to the sidewall of the chute system. The chute side wall being grounded. On the opposite end of the boom, a cylinder (hydraulic or pneumatic) is secured via a connecting pin. The opposite end of the cylinder is secured to the chute wall via another connecting pin. The enabled geometry provides increased force to close the lip as the bore end of the cylinder is now generating the force (push) to close and secure the lip. Conventional methods pull to close the lip relying on the rod end of the cylinder to generate force. |
