PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sizing agent for a carbon fiber, capable of obtaining the carbon fiber excellent in mechanical physical property-improving effect in forming a composite using a resin, especially a radical polymerization-based resin, the carbon fiber sizing-treated with the sizing agent for the carbon fiber and a sheet-formed material having such the carbon fiber. SOLUTION: This sizing agent for the carbon fiber, which is an ester of an epoxy compound having a multiple number of epoxy groups in its molecule with an unsaturated monobasic acid, contains (A) a compound having at least one epoxy group in its molecule and (B) a 2-functional type urethane acrylate oligomer showing≥40% tensile elongation of its cured material, has within (B)/(A)=(1/3) to (2/1) range mass ratio of (A) the above compound to (B) the urethane acrylate oligomer and also has≥20 mass% ratio of the total amount of the (A) compound and the (B) urethane acrylate oligomer occupying in the total of the sizing components.
