PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use digital camera having a through image display function, a dust reduction function, and a vibration-proof function. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes an imaging element 211 which receives subject luminous flux passed through a photographic lens and outputs a subject image signal, a liquid crystal monitor 26 which displays a through image of a subject based upon the output of the imaging element 211, a shift mechanism 217 which moves the imaging element 211 so as to cancel a hand shake according to a hand shake signal, a dust-proof filter 207 disposed in front of the imaging element 211, and a piezoelectric element 208 which vibrates the dust-proof filter 207 so as to remove dust. While the through image is displayed on the liquid crystal monitor 26, the vibration of the dust-proof filter 207 (#149) and a stop of hand shake correcting operation by the shift mechanism 217 are alternately repeated so as to cancel the hand shake.
