Method and system for exchanging data with a hearing aid

The method involves providing a hearing device, and selecting a unit, where the selected unit is connected to the hearing device. A contact existing with a connected unit is detected by the hearing device. An identification code is read from a memory of the detected unit by the hearing device. A parameter stored on the selected unit is read by the hearing device, where the parameter is read at a predetermined interval after detecting the contact. An operating parameter is activated on the selected unit by the hearing device based on the identification code. An independent claim is also included for a system comprising an electroacoustic converter.
