A memorial such as a gravestone for a cemetery or churchyard comprises a plate 1, base 2 and foundation 3. The plate is suitable for carrying a design or inscription. The base supports the plate and a foundation supports the base. The base is connected to the foundation by one or more connecting members or brackets 8, 9, which each have at least two screw-receiving apertures 10. The connecting members may be formed of stainless steel. The connecting member enables the base to be screwed to the foundation, which facilitates maintenance. The connecting member may be concealed so as to be accessible only through a flower container hole 5 in the base. |
