<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission device of an internal combustion engine which can be easily assembled while assimilating a variability in sizes of components. <P>SOLUTION: An exhaust emission device 1, provided in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine so that the device purify the exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine, includes a cylindrical case 3, an upstream side cone section 2 bonded to an upstream side end part 8b of the case 3 for introducing the exhaust gas into the case 3, a downstream side cone section 4 bonded to the downstream side end part 8d of the case 3 for exhausting the exhaust gas from the case 3; and an exhaust gas purifying body 5 for purifying the exhaust gas introduced through the upstream side cone section 2, the body being contained in the case 3, in which at least one of the upstream and downstream side cone sections 2, 4 has a folded part 4b folded toward the outside at one end, and the case 3 is engaged with the outside of the folded part 4b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
