PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transporting liquid across a molecular membrane between adjacent liquid cells, and actively handling the volume of the liquid cells. SOLUTION: In the liquid phase transportation method in fine flow passages, a state with two liquid phases containing amphiphilic molecules or a liquid phase and a vapor phase alternately disposed in the fine flow passages, is created. One of the two liquid phases, or the vapor phase from the liquid phase and vapor phase is led out of the branched fine passages provided on one side or both sides of a wall face of the fine passages, and adjacent remaining liquids are brought into contact with each other to form juxtaposed structure of a molecular membrane consisting of the amphiphilic molecules. At this time, an organic phase and a water phase are used for the two liquid phases, or the organic phase or water phase is used as the liquid phase used together with the vapor phase. After formation of the molecular membrane, liquid phase transportation is caused from the water phase or organic phase with low concentration to the water phase or organic phase of higher concentration via the molecular membrane in the fine passages, to concentrate or dilute a substance in the water phase or organic phase.
