PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective member for the base of the toes, a member that protects the base of the toes against injury when footwear having a strap such as clogs or sandals and heavy-soled socks with a split in the toe section for example are worn for a long time. SOLUTION: There is provided the protective member for the base of the toes which is formed, using a soft material, in the shape attachable to the base of the toes. Because of this structure, when the clogs or the heavy-soled socks are worn after the protective member is attached to the base between the big toe and the second toe, the strap of the clog or the split section of the heavy-soled sock comes into contact with the protective member without coming into direct contact with the base of the toes. Consequently, the protective member eliminates friction and pressure caused by the strap of the clog or the split section of the heavy-soled sock. As a result, when such footwear is worn by a user for a long time, no inflammation is caused in the base of the toes, enabling the user to be engaged with an activity comfortably with the footwear on.
