PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse wave measuring instrument which can precisely measure amplitude of pulse waves by reliably blocking outdoor daylight at the time of measurement and keeping the load on a finger constant when measuring. SOLUTION: The pulse wave measuring instrument is provided with a device body 2 in which an LED and a pulse wave sensor are arranged and a lid part 4 which is supported by the device body 2 in an openable or closable manner. The device body 2 and the lid part 4 constitute a finger insertion part 60 into which a fingertip S1 of an object to be measured can be inserted. It also has a stretchable belt 5 which surrounds the device body 2 and the lid part 4 and maintains the closed state of the lid part 4.
