PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium transportation device suppressing an increase in the number of components and being capable of detecting double-feeding of media.SOLUTION: A medium transportation device comprises: a transportation section transporting a sheet 16; a front face sensor 50 acquiring two-dimensional first image data with time from a front face 16a side of the sheet 16 transported by the transportation section; a rear face sensor 51 acquiring two-dimensional second image data with time from a rear face 16b side of the sheet 16 transported by the transportation section; and a detection section detecting double-feeding of the sheet 16 on the basis of the first image data and the second image data. The detection section detects the double-feeding of the sheet 16 when an end portion of the sheet 16 is included in any one image data of the first image data and the second image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
