PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silencer capable of suppressing clogging particulates such as soot in small holes communicating an interior of an inner pipe with an exterior thereof without entailing a great increase of a ventilation resistance.SOLUTION: A silencer 10 comprises: an inner pipe 14 in which exhaust gas flows; and a plurality of communication sections 28 formed in a peripheral wall 26 of the inner pipe 14. The communication sections 28 each include an inner deformed part 30 that is formed by deforming a part of the peripheral wall 26 to an inner side of the inner pipe and that has a gas-flow downstream end portion 30B separated from the peripheral wall 26; and an outer deformed part 32 that is formed by deforming a part of the peripheral wall 26 adjacent to a downstream side of the inner deformed part 30 to an outer side of the inner pipe and that has a gas-flow upstream end portion 32B separated from the peripheral wall 26. The downstream end portion 30B of the inner deformed part 30 and the upstream end portion 32B of the outer deformed part 32 form each hole 34 communicating an interior of the inner pipe with an exterior thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
