PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse a catalyst recovered from a reaction liquid and to reuse a solvent used for recovering the catalyst, when tetraarylphosphonium halide and/or an adduct of tetraarylphosphonium halide and hydrogen halide are used as the catalyst in a production of diphenyl carbonate by a decarbonylation reaction of diphenyl oxalate.SOLUTION: In recovering a catalyst which is tetraarylphosphonium halide and/or an adduct of tetraarylphosphonium halide and hydrogen halide, and which is included in a residual liquid remaining after acquiring a component including diphenyl carbonate from a reaction liquid after a decarbonylation reaction, the recovery method of the catalyst has a step to bring the residual liquid into contact with a polar organic solvent and hydrogen chloride, and a step to recover the polar organic solvent used in the catalyst recovery and reuse it in the catalyst recovery step.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
