摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single cavity type toroidal continuously variable transmission capable of reducing the dimension in an axial direction and weight of a variator.SOLUTION: A pressing mechanism 20 of a single cavity type toroidal continuously variable transmission includes: a recess 50 provided on the back surface of an output side disc 3 so as to be recessed in an axial direction; a bearing ring 46 provided at the recess 50, and constituting a thrust bearing 45; and a hydraulic chamber 51 provided in an oil tight manner between the bearing ring 46 and the bottom surface of the recess 50. With this structure, the pressing mechanism 20 can be housed in the recess 50. Consequently, in comparison to conventional ones, the axial direction of a variator 10 can be reduced, and since a cam disc, a cam roller, a cylinder and the like conventionally used are eliminated, in comparison to the conventional ones, a weight can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
