PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver which receives only a broadcast signal of one broadcasting system in a plurality of broadcasting system candidates and easily identifies one broadcasting system identified by an external broadcasting system identifying apparatus. SOLUTION: A receiver which receives only a broadcasting signal of one broadcasting system in a plurality of broadcasting system candidates comprises: a tuner for tuning to only channels of the one broadcasting system; an index means (indexing means with an external shape of the tuner as an index) that becomes an index for an external broadcasting system identifying apparatus to identify one broadcasting system; and one circuit board 102 mounting the tuner and the index means thereon. In the case where one broadcasting system is a first broadcasting system, light from a light-emitting element 16 to a light-receiving element 17 is not shielded like a tuner 1A and in the case where the one broadcasting system is a second broadcasting system, light is shielded by the tuner.
