PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit both past image data and current image data through a transmission line of one system, to provide image display free of a sense of incompatibility, and to confirm a present state immediately. SOLUTION: A monitor system has a camera device A and a monitoring device B1. The camera device A has an image processing type human body detector 1, a heat ray type human body detector 2, an image storage means 12b of compressing image data groups obtained by an imaging means 10 along a time base and storing the compressed image data groups, and an image transmitting means 12a of inserting current image data picked up between past image data obtained by arranging an image data group of image data whose imaging time is prior to a detection time in the order of the imaging time among the image data groups stored in the image storage means 12b and transmitting the resulting image data group to the monitoring device B1 once the presence of a person is detected. The monitoring device B1 has a reproducing means 8 of extracting one of images based upon transmitted past image data and current image data and displaying the image on an image display means 6.
