PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging device which detects both movements of a body and the distance thereto, and attains cost reduction with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging device has a single imaging plane for imaging the body, wherein the imaging plane is divided into a distance detection area to be specified to serve as a distance detecting function of detecting the distance to the body, a movement detection area to be specified to serve as a movement detecting function of detecting movements of the body, and an optical communication area to be specified to serve as a communication function for communication with the outside.
