Provided in the present invention are highly convenient extension tubes and an electric vacuum cleaner which are configured to avoid an increase of power lines installed to an extension tube and dispose a light source and a power supply circuit for the light source while suppressing an increase of the size of a bucket tip. The extension tube (25) and the electric vacuum cleaner (1) comprise: a socket (89) which is connected to the power lines (47) accommodated in a hook cover part (109); a light source (48) which is installed to the outer surface part (116) of the hook cover part (109); and a power source circuit (49) disposed in the outside of the inner tube body (52). The total number of power lines (47) installed to the extension tube (25) can be reduced by distributing each electric circuit having different electric currents and voltages in separate spaces.
