Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for monitoring a delinquent degree, which dynamically update the delinquent degree of characters through the analysis of transactions to detect abnormal characters performing abnormal transactions in an online game. The method for monitoring a delinquent degree comprises: a step of determining whether the transaction of the characters is abnormal; a step of calculating the change of the delinquent degrees of the characters if the transaction is abnormal; and a step of updating the delinquent degrees of the characters according to the calculated change of the delinquent degrees.
