<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink composition for writing utensils represented by a highlighter pen and the like, that has improved dry suppression effect and writing performance. <P>SOLUTION: The water-based ink composition comprises (a) a block type alkylene oxide derivative shown by general formula (I), (b) a colorant and (c) water. In (I) Z-äO-[(AO)<SB>a</SB>-(EO)<SB>b</SB>]-R}<SB>2</SB>, Z indicates a residue group formed by eliminating a hydroxy group from a dimer diol, EO indicates an oxyethylene group, and AO indicates a 3-4C oxyalkylene group, wherein their modes of addition are block types, a and b are each an average number of added moles of the oxyalkylene group and the oxyethylene group, which satisfies 1≤2×a≤150 and 1≤2×b≤150, respectively, the proportion of the oxyethylene group to the sum total of the 3-4C oxyalkylene group and the oxyethylene group is 10-99 mass%, and Rs, which may be different or the same, are each a 1-4C hydrocarbon group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
