A containment structure (100) for a gas turbine engine (10) includes a stator shroud (102) with a wall (106). The stator shroud wall extends axially between a shroud inlet aperture (108) and the shroud outlet aperture (110). The wall includes a stainless steel alloy material having less than 44% nickel by mass to provide containment protection for an impeller (128) rotateably disposed within an interior of the stator shroud.
