PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing the possibility of damaging a membrane electrode assembly.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a fuel cell includes (a) a step for preparing an electrode body, (b) a step for applying a filling member containing thermosetting resin, (c) a step for forming a first filling portion that is a portion of the filling member sandwiched by a seal member and a membrane electrode assembly, and an exposed portion that is another portion of the filling member extruding from a gap further outside than a first gas diffusion layer in the lamination direction of the membrane electrode assembly, (d) a step for forming an electrode body with a seal by hardening the first filling portion out of the filling member, and (e) for hardening the exposed portion when arranging a first separator on the surface of the seal member and the surface of the first gas diffusion layer. |
