An image forming apparatus (10) comprises a printing unit (24), a drawing data generating circuit (17a), and a medium feeding circuit (17b). The drawing data generating circuit (17a) is adapted to generate, based on print data, drawing data that causes the printing unit (24) to execute a print job. The medium feeding circuit (17b) is adapted to feed the print medium (90) to the printing unit (24). The medium feeding circuit (17b) is adapted to execute: a first feeding stage in which the print medium (90) moves to a specific position; and a second feeding stage in which the print medium (90) moves from the specific position to the printing unit (24). The medium feeding circuit (17b), when the image forming apparatus (10) is in any one of specific states, starts the first feeding stage after the drawing data has been generated by the drawing data generating circuit (17a), and, when the image forming apparatus (10) is not in any one of the specific states, starts the first feeding stage before the drawing data has been generated by the drawing data generating circuit (17a). |
