Passport (1) has inner sheets (11, 12, 13) joined in the middle region forming a bent or folded edge produced by a paper substrate of a personalized page (2). A seam (4) is provided for joining the pages of the passport. The edge region (8, 9) of the paper substrate is reinforced by laminated films and protected against delamination. An independent claim is also included for a process for producing the passport.
