<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing system and maintenance method capable of improving the efficiency of maintenance work by a maintenance worker in a processing system of the financial institution. <P>SOLUTION: A maintenance terminal 30 for instructing maintenance work is provided outside a management center 1, and a maintenance management device 20 provided inside the management center is informed of maintenance work qualification information by the maintenance terminal 30. The maintenance management device 20 performs maintenance work qualification recognition processing on the basis of the maintenance work qualification information, authenticates the maintenance work qualification, then notifies a processor 10 of remote communication authentication information for having the processor 10 inside the management center 1 perform remote operation authentication. The processor 10 performs authentication processing on the basis of the remote communication control authentication information and notifies the maintenance management device 20 of authentication permission.
