Molding (A) comprises aluminosilicate and aluminum oxide, where (A) exhibits an aluminum to silicon molar ratio of 10-30, a pore with a diameter of greater than 1 nm, at least a bimodal pore distribution, the volume of the pores of (A) with a diameter of greater than 10 nm corresponds to at least 40% of the total pore volume of (A). Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (A) comprising producing a mixture containing alumosilicate, aluminumoxide as a binding agent, a fractional agent and a solvent, mixing and condensing the mixture, shaping the condensed mixture to form (A), drying (A) and calcinating the dried (A); and (2) the continuous preparation of methylamine comprising reacting methanol and/or dimethylether with ammonia in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst such as (A).
