PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcasting receiver which can make only a receiving unit of broadcasting which actually performs viewing and listening operate following to user's viewing and listening timing, by operating either a digital broadcasting receiving unit or an analog broadcasting receiving unit based on an input or detected position information, and make it possible to view and listen broadcasting of a good receiving condition at the position and in low consumption power. SOLUTION: If position information is input from an input and output unit 13; a broadcasting start control unit 14 discriminates whether analog broadcasting or digital broadcasting is to be received based on the position information, and performs starting either an analog broadcasting receiving unit 11 or a digital broadcasting receiving unit 12, or switching from a receiving unit to another receiving unit.
