PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that cost is increased for suppressing a color shift due to fluctuation and the like of light sources since it is needed to provide light sensor parts for every backlight block into which a backlight is divided in a conventional liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display is provided with an operation part 32 calculating luminance and/or chromaticity of the respective light sources of N pieces of backlight blocks 11 based on a prescribed rule utilizing sense result sensed by M pieces of light sensing parts 26 by performing control according to a predetermined procedure about the respective N pieces of backlight blocks 11 by a backlight control part 19 and a dimmer part 18 performing correction of luminance and/or chromaticity of light sources of respective N pieces of backlight blocks 11 based on a calculation result by the operation part 32.
