PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional driver circuit in which a device whose output terminal is an open drain output terminal is also used as an inverter output device without requiring an external resistor. SOLUTION: The multifunctional driver circuit 10 has: a VDDterminal 12; VSSterminal 13; an input terminal 14 to which an input signal is supplied; an output terminal 16 to which an output signal is output; and an external switching terminal 18 to which an external instruction signal for switching the output terminal 16 between a function as the open drain output terminal and a function as an inverter output terminal is supplied, includes: an amplifier 20 having a function for suitably amplifying the input signal to be adjusted to an operation voltage range, etc.; and a driver element 22, a first load element 24, and a second load element 26 to be serially connected between the VDDterminal 12 and the VSSterminal 13, and further includes a switching part 30 between the gate terminal of the second load element 26 and the external switching terminal 18.
