The inventions relates to a method of preparing an elastomer composite based on a solution polymerization rubber comprising a layered silicate as a filler, an elastomer composite prepared by the claimed method and a rubber for the manufacture of tires based on one or more elastomer composites prepared by the claimed method. The invention provides a rubber composition for tire treads, having improved processing characteristics, and rubbers with reduced rolling losses.
