PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hat type steel sheet pile widened larger than 700mm excellent in sectional property in comparison with the conventional one. SOLUTION: The hat type steel sheet pile is so constituted that its effective width B[mm], flange width Bf[mm], height H[mm] and geometrical moment of inertia I[cm<SP>4</SP>/m] can fulfill a relationship expressed in the following equation.
