PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting choke coil which can be reduced in mounting area and thereby can respond more appropriately to high-density mounting and can be improved in performance and allows the formation of solder fillets to be easily checked during soldering. SOLUTION: At the opposite corners within a rectangular outside dimension frame 5 conforming to a predetermined dimension standard and on the sides of a lower flange 10c where solder fillets 8a to be formed may be fit within the outside dimension frame 5, solder fillet formation portions 11a and 11a are set upright, respectively, from a pair of external electrodes 11 and 11 formed on the bottom face of the lower flange 10c.
