PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly evaluate a deformation characteristic when applying a load onto a small modeled sample, in a form in conformity with an actual situation of a material, by a simple device. SOLUTION: A plurality of imaging devices is arranged respectively to direct imaging optical axes toward an origin of three-dimensional coordinates, in positions having an equal interval mutually with an equal distance from the center axis, within a plane perpendicular to the center axis of the sample in a circumferential direction of the sample, the sample is synchronized to be imaged by the plurality of imaging devices, in both a state applied with no center-axial-directional load onto the sample and a state applied with the load, to find image coordinates of a gage mark on a sample circumferential face in each of the images obtained by the imaging devices, the three-dimensional coordinates of the gage mark are found based on the image coordinates of the gage mark of the sample in left and right images, using the images by the two adjacent imaging devices as the set of left and right images, out of the respective images obtained by the imaging devices, the three-dimensional coordinates of the gage mark are found in all the combinations of the two adjacent imaging devices, and the deformation characteristic of the sample is found based on variations of all the found three-dimensional coordinates of the gage mark.
