PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting vibration of a rotating body, in which the static unbalance as horizontal moment and the couple unbalance as torque are combined. SOLUTION: The method is for detecting vibration quantity, during the rotation of the rotating body incorporated in a machine by a balancing machine and a controller connected therewith. Data for the static unbalance and the couple balance of the rotating body is read from the balancing machine. A first vibration transfer constant for the static unbalance and a second vibration transfer constant for the couple unbalance which are specific to the machine, incorporating the rotating body, are calculated, respectively. The absolute value, consisting of a value of the couple balance multiplied by the second vibration transfer constant, added to the value of the static unbalance multiplied by the first vibration transfer constant, is calculated in a vibration-transmitting part of the rotating body to the machine.
