Disclosed is a method including having an ongoing communication session v ia a packet switched network, transferring said communication session from t he packet switched network to a second network providing both packet and cir cuit switched access, and informing an application server maintaining said o ngoing communication session that the communication session is to be split i nto a packet switched part and a circuit switched part. Also disclosed is a method in an application server, including receiving, from a first communica tion device, an indication that a communication session between the first co mmunication device and a second communication device is to be split into a p acket switched part and a circuit switched part, waiting for to receive tran sfer requests of both the packet switched partand the circuit switched part, and informing the second communication device of the split.
