APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING CODES IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method and an apparatus for generating codes in a mobile communication system are provided to simplify complexity of the code generating system by minimizing the amount of information required for transmission and reception parties. A code generating apparatus includes a coder(302), an interleaver(304), a continuous region selector(306), and a retransmission region selector(308). The coder encodes the data to be transmitted. The interleaver interleaves overall code symbols, which are encoded by the coder. The continuous region selector selects the transmission code symbols to be transmitted from a reception side from the overall interleaved code symbols. The retransmission region selector selects a data region and transmits region information representing the selected data region and the data symbols in the data region. The retransmission region selector successively selects the data from start code symbols according to the number of symbols to be transmitted and selects the data region including the selected code symbols.
