摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup apparatus capable of accurately recording and/reproducing information with respect to a plurality of types of storage positions in an optical disk where information is recordable in recording positions different in distance from a surface. <P>SOLUTION: A detecting means detects a distance between the surface of an optical disk OD and an objective lens OBJ. A first actuator ACT1 is driven based on a signal from the detecting means in an optical axis direction so as to keep the distance between the surface of the optical disk OD and the objective lens. Thus, for example, irrespective of the distortion or deformation of the optical disk OD, the surface of the optical disk and the objective lens OBJ are always kept in constant states. Further, a second actuator ACT2 displaces a relay optical system ROS in the optical axis direction according to the recording position of the optical disk OD targeted for information recording and/or reproducing.
