PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver capable of displaying highly accurate power consumption, without providing a circuit for measuring power consumption separately.SOLUTION: A television receiver includes a memory 5 for prestoring the power consumption Pb of the circuit part and the minimum power consumption Pmin of the television receiver, and a microprocessor 4 for calculating the maximum power consumption Pblmax of a backlight 3 included in a panel module 1. Maximum power consumption Pmax of the television receiver is calculated from the maximum power consumption Pblmax of the backlight 3 and power consumption Pb of the circuit part. Power consumption Pn(W) of the television receiver is calculated based on the relational expression of the backlight adjustment value, i.e., the adjustment value for lighting control of the backlight 3, maximum power consumption Pmax and minimum power consumption Pmin of the television receiver, and the power consumption Pn(W) of the television receiver thus calculated is displayed on the screen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
