This invention relates to microphone accessories for use with a hand-held microphone, and to a method of using a microphone. The microphone accessory in accordance with the invention has a body comprising an attachment formation for attaching the microphone accessory to the handle of the microphone, a holding portion to be engaged by a hand of the user, a cover portion coupled to the holding portion and substantially spaced therefrom so as to define a holding zone between the holding portion and the cover portion for receipt of the hand of the user to engage the holding portion, m use, wherein the cover portion substantially shields or covers the holding zone and/or the hand of the user; and a static non-electronically variable display device and/or mi electronically variable display device.
