PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal pillow packaging method and a horizontal pillow packaging apparatus which can well discriminate a packaged product of a seal inferiority article which is easy to generate after the packaging apparatus is suspended and a packaged product of a good article, in the horizontal pillow packaging apparatus and packaging method thereof. SOLUTION: A cutting process by cutting mechanism 9 for cutting a cut timing position of a packaging bag P carried at the beginning on the basis of a starting signal S when the horizontal pillow packaging apparatus is started or re-started, is made impossible to be actuated. Then, after the cut timing position which makes impossible the cutting process by the cutting mechanism 9 is passed through the cutting mechanism 9, the cutting process by the cutting mechanism 9 is returned to be actuated in accordance with the following cut timing position.
