PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decontaminate a soil polluted by a cyanide compound effectively through a decontaminating process involving a bio-remediation. SOLUTION: The soil polluted by the cyanide compound is decontaminated on site under an aerobic condition, utilizing the activity of microorganisms. Upon decontaminating, the surface of the soil is covered with an artificial material having a low gas permeability and a nutrient matter clear of a nitrogen source is supplied to the soil covered with the artificial material.
