<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a performance recovery process and inhibiting NOx discharged from an internal combustion engine from being discharged to atmospheric air at the execution of a performance recovery process of storage reduction type NOx catalysts provided in a plurality of branch passage branched off from an exhaust passage. <P>SOLUTION: A flow rate of exhaust gas passing through a first branch passage 10a is made smaller than that passing through a second branch passage 10b (T1-T3) by closing a first flow rate change valve after adding fuel as a reducer from a first fuel adding valve during torque dulling control (T0-T1) when a quantity of NOx discharged from the internal combustion engine and flowing in an exhaust pipe is smaller than a predetermined quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
