A backward transmission for the manual gearbox of a vehicle is provided to firmly fix a backward idle gear by fixing a backward gear lever using a set spring with sufficient durability. A backward transmission for the manual gearbox of a vehicle includes a backward idle gear(11), a backward gear lever(12), a shift pin(14), a gear lever bracket(16), and a bolt(17). An upper end portion of the backward gear lever pushes the backward idle gear. The shift pin activates the backward gear lever. The gear lever bracket includes a set spring which is inserted into a fixing hole of the backward gear lever and fixes the backward idle gear. The backward gear lever is implemented on the gear lever bracket by a rotational pin. The bolt fixes the gear lever bracket. The set spring includes a ball, a spring, and a cap. The ball is mounted on a fixing hole of the backward gear lever. The spring elastically supports the ball. The cap mounts the spring on the gear lever bracket.
