<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording medium which gives high glossy feeling in the case of using silica as a pigment, and has an excellent ink absorption, and high productivity/yield. <P>SOLUTION: The inkjet recording medium has a silica-containing under layer composed mainly of a pigment and a binder, formed on at least one surface of a support, and an ink receptive layer formed on the surface of the under layer by a cast coating process. The under layer is formed by first applying a coating liquid containing 0.1 to 20 pts.mass of quaternary ammonium hydroxide for 100 pts.mass of pigment and by drying the coating liquid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
