PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance capable of effectively acting as a photosensitizer in an aqueous medium although use is made of a natural metal porphyrin being hardly soluble in water or a hydrophobic synthetic metal porphyrin. SOLUTION: The albumin-metal porphyrin complex comprises a metal porphyrin compound having zinc, magnesium, cadmium or chromium as a central metal ion, and an albumin clathrating the metal porphyrin.
